A small emblem inside a city landscape
City of Bend, Comprehensive Plan, Chapter 8, Exhibit C · Undated
This record carries no date and is not plotted along the story. The archive holds it.
The City’s landscape identity places the round letters below a river, trees and mountains.
This chapter-opening page from the City’s Comprehensive Plan surrounds public services with local images. At the top, the landscape mark ends in a small circular Bend emblem between the numerals of 1905.
The year in the artwork is the city’s incorporation date, not a date for this design. The filed chapter is a later amendment draft; it does not identify the landscape artist or establish when the composite mark first appeared.
Measured
The bureau roundel, the notched construction. Narrow letters, a notched E and a notched B at the same height, an arched third letter, and rounded corners.
Read at low confidence from 79 px of letter.
Not measured. A vertical rectangular badge with an arched BEND over a landscape, not a circular device. The roundel in its bottom cartouche is 79 px on a 600 dpi render of the filed PDF - enough to read by eye, which is what the character matrix does, and not enough to measure against drawings ten times its size. Excluding a drawing is itself a finding, so it is recorded rather than estimated.
