The weekly’s version of the fourteenth annual, three years after the club had gone and with its rule unchanged.
Two lines in the weekly edition, repeating what the daily had printed the same week: Mrs. L. G. McReynolds took the Emblem Club cup for the most artistic arrangement of not less than five varieties.
The rule is the club’s own, written into the show’s printed terms in 1916 and 1917 and unaltered through 1920, 1922, 1925 and now 1927. Three years after the stockholders voted to disband, the category the club had defined was still being read out.
By 1943 it was gone: the cup that year went for a “modernistic arrangement”, in a list where the chamber of commerce trophy went for “underwater”. A cup can carry an organisation’s name into later decades, and this award does not mean the historic club was still meeting.
