A seven-piece orchestra, a late supper, and six named performers, on the Monday that was St Patrick's Day.

“Preparations for the St. Patrick's day dancing party to be given at the Emblem club Monday evening are practically completed, and a large number will enjoy true Irish hospitality at that time is the prediction of the committee in charge of arrangements.” Luncheon would be served late in the evening, and in addition to the orchestra there was a programme: Irish songs by the Imperial Male quartet; solos by Mrs. C. V. Silvis, Mrs. F. C. Fish and Wilson George; a solo by Marie Linster; and a violin solo by John Logan.

The Monday in question was March 17, 1919 — St Patrick's Day itself. The club had reopened its house fourteen months earlier and would buy the building outright six weeks later. This is the room at its ordinary business: an orchestra, a supper and six performers, on a night the town wanted an excuse.
