The club was preparing an enlarged clubhouse for Portland’s visiting Ad Club in the summer of 1914.
The Bulletin reported that the addition was nearly complete and would accommodate about 200 diners. Its account captures the preparations before the September visit.
The figure in the headline above was recovered from the page rather than from the machine transcription, which renders “200” as “MO”. This is the most damaged page in the collection, and the reading is set out in the record's note.
From the source
Suffice to say that the Commercial Club and Emblem Club committees are busy arranging matters. The Emblem Club addition to its home is about completed, and there a banquet to the visitors and local people will be served with accomodations for close to 200.
