A design contest of March 2011, and the only statement anyone has found about where the drawing on it came from.

Bend Brew Wear ran a logo contest on LogoTournament in March 2011. The brief asks for a pint glass and the Three Sisters, and then says, in its own words: “We’ve also attached a ‘Bend’ logo that is public domain and we would like included.”

The attachment is not on the public contest page. Two designers’ entries of 24 to 29 March 2011 render the same narrow, notched, capital-N letters, which is what tracing a supplied file looks like. The winning entry is already filed in this archive as its own record.

The brief’s phrase is the contest holder’s description of what they attached, and it is quoted as that and nothing more. This site does not say the emblem is in the public domain: the provenance review that would settle it is not recorded, and until it is the site says only that the emblem is free to use.
