      "That list is why this page matters. The club left no roll; sixteen names on one morning is the closest thing to one, and finding them here sent the search to the original of May 28, 1913, which prints the same sixteen under a front-page headline.",

The 1913 page says the party “were the guests of the Portland Ad Club today at a luncheon at the Portland Hotel”; this column says they “will be guests”.
