    "body": [
      "That is the whole item, and the whole reason for filing it is the word auxiliary. In June 1920 twenty-five women whose husbands were members had formed an informal organization at the clubhouse \"merely for convenience in planning affairs of a social nature\". This is the Bulletin, nine weeks later, naming what they formed.",
      "It also shows how quickly the thing settled into a routine. The June notice planned regular monthly luncheons; by August the paper is reporting a regular semi-monthly meeting, and over the next eighteen months it would record a regular one o'clock luncheon, a regular business luncheon, a regular social meeting and a regular bridge party. Whatever its standing, the auxiliary kept a fuller calendar than most of what the archive holds about the club itself."
