A fortnight later the club dined at the same hotel with Cheney down from Seattle and rehearsed “songs to be used on the club’s excursion to Portland on May 28”. On 28 May the Bulletin printed the sixteen men who went. Thirty years afterwards its retrospective column reprinted that list, which is how this project found it.",
