"Unchanged from the week before: same column, same position on the editorial page, same setting of type, same words. Read at the page image rather than matched on the machine transcription — which is the whole reason this week is filed separately.",
"This page's transcription renders the railroads' outlay as $5,000,000. The page reads $25,000,000, the same figure as the other three weeks. Nothing about the advertisement changed; a digit fell out of the reading of it. Anyone comparing the four weeks on their transcriptions alone would find a discrepancy that is not there.",
"The address survives the same test. The transcription gives “fvC0-J61 Empire Building”; the page gives 860-861, which is the suite the company would print again in July 1912, two weeks after publishing the emblem."

The first train over both roads ran in on November 1, 1911. The population then was 1,000. In eight months' time what will it be?\n\nWe offer you a chance, without cost to yourself, to participate in the following prizes:\n\n$100 CASH, 1st Prize · $35 CASH, 2nd Prize · $15 CASH, 3rd Prize\n\nThis money has been deposited in the Scandinavian-American Bank of Seattle for this purpose.. For prize blanks, write BEND PARK COMPANY, 860-861 Empire Building, Seattle, Washington, or H. J. OVERTURF, Bend Park Co. Representative, Bend.",
"readingNote": "Read off this page's own 144 dpi render at native resolution, not matched to another week's reading. Column line breaks joined and the three prize lines run together with interpuncts; the doubled stop after “purpose” is what the page prints.",
